Will the day ever come? I’m still forced to develop web applications specifically for IE6. Certain incompetent sods working for certain governments are unable to upgrade browsers. Security doesn’t seem to be important when dealing with sensitive information…wait…what?
Although I love the hey-it-idea (and I put up posters in our company), I’m afraid that in reality most big corporations will wait until MS stops official support for MSIE6.
as support for msie6 depends on support for win xp sp3 (released in april 2008)
regarding win xp sp3: “Support ends 24 months after the next service pack releases or at the end of the product’s support lifecycle,”
so although it’s hard to say how long MS will support msie6, it’ll probably be for well in 2011 (or later)?
Dat is waar, maar standaarden volgen …Ik vermoed zelfs een correlatie tussen IE6 en het aantal zelfmoorden bij webmasters. Het gaat dus de goede richting uit

That, according to http://support.microsoft.com/gp/lifesupsps, won’t be for the near future:
as support for msie6 depends on support for win xp sp3 (released in april 2008)
regarding win xp sp3: “Support ends 24 months after the next service pack releases or at the end of the product’s support lifecycle,”

Thanks for supporting the action we’ve put up. Just so you know, we started a Flickr group at http://www.flickr.com/groups/hey-it/ and even decided, since actions speak louder than words, to invade a company ourselves. Check the movie at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JlGux4Z2nf8
