Die ochtend in het bos
Deze ochtend op dagelijkse wandel in het “Mechels Bos” met onze iets grotere hond (Maya, Roemeense adoptiehond met naar we vermoeden wat collie en wat berghond genen, ze is idd groter dan Mamita onze quasi-chihuahua) hoorde ik een vreemd geluid. Luister hieronder even (geen bewegend beeld, maar foto van hier in de buurt); het beest bleef een hele tijd stil en het is niet heel luid;
Ik dacht even aan een everzwijn (die zitten hier ook) maar aangezien die niet in bomen klimmen en het geluid wel degelijk van boven in de bomen kwam heb ik het opgenomen en naar m’n vrouw gestuurd die een vogelgeluid-identificatie-app heeft draaien en het zou dus … een raaf zijn! 🙂

Wilco is in town tonight, playing the “Lokerse Feesten” ; an open air 9 day festival here, a mere 5 minutes bicycle ride from home.
I’m not counting on it, but it would be great if I could see, hear and feel “Impossible Germany” live …

Twitterless Twaddle revisited
Although I removed the “twitterless twaddle” byline from this blog years ago and I was present on Twitter with my @futtta-account, I’ve never been an avid user. That means I have no “social capital” there and given the Musk shit-show it has quickly become, I revisited the Mastodon account I created in April this year (when Elon declared he wanted to buy Twitter) and as instructed by God I happily “archived” my Twitter account by removing all my follows, protecting my tweets, changing my name and gently closing the door behind me (and I finally deactivated my FB account as well).

Not that I’m good at doing the socials, not that I’ll have much to say there, not that Mastodon solves all problems with social media, but it does feel good to be on a federated/ distributed social network using open source software, not owned by one company or one person.
